Endowed Lectures

There are three endowed lectures given annually by outstanding scientists in the areas of the Biophysics of Excitable Membranes and Membrane Transport. The lectures honor three distinguished scientists who are former members of the faculty of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology.

  • The Robert W. Berliner Memorial Lecture

    Lisa M. Satlin, M.D., Chief of Pediatric Nephrology at Mount Saini Medical Center will present the Berliner Lecture on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in TAC N107.  "The Renal BK Channel: A Sleeping Giant Awakened".

  • Peter F. Curran Lecture

Robert C. Boucher, MD, from the University of North Carolina presented the 22nd Peter F. Curran Lecture on Thursday, December 7. The topic of his lecture was "Mysteries of the thin film: Regulation of airway surface liquid in health and disease."

  • Louis H. Nahum Lecture

    Francisco Bezanilla, PhD, from the University of Chicago will present the  Louis H. Nahum Lecture on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in Hope 110. The topic of his lecture will be "How Voltage Gated Channels Sense Voltage".
